[Adam knows he's giving Gansey hope and most of it could prove wrong. He hasn't seen guards doing that to others, but it doesn't mean that he wouldn't be forced. Adam is edging around drugs and how often people here find themselves drugged. Worrying about what Gansey might truly run into if he fights against the system because he doesn't belong in the caste he's been, well, cast.
