[ Of course it occurred to Sam that everyone here might not be human. Whoever or whatever brought them here definitely wasn't, and considering how indiscriminatory it had proven to be so far he wouldn't be surprised if it picked up people who were only mostly human. Vampires and werewolves would be difficult to pick out of a crowd if they were determined to blend in, and maybe a dozen other things he could think of off the top of his head. But as long as they are blending in and not hurting anyone, they would be pretty far down on his list of priorities at the moment.
It's a thought that drifts toward the back until he meets with the odd black eyes of something that decidedly isn't human. Sam's seen enough of them that he can tell, if not in the eyes then something in the way it moves despite having the body of what should have been a young man with some teenage awkwardness left over.
It sets him on edge. It might not be openly hostile, but not having any clue as to what he's dealing with is difficult even when he isn't so completely unprepared. He does try to put on a more neutral tone and posture than he's genuinely feeling though, as he's trying not to jump to any conclusions. ]
I assume they're supposed to look like that.
[ He can't be entirely confident that they're as innocuous as they should be. His eyebrows furrow as he looks down at the expression of aversion, wondering if there could be more to the food here than there should be. He hasn't been eating or drinking too much, but so far he feels fine. ]
