[ Kazu laughs softly at the teasing, not arguing it -- Val's right, after all -- and continues poking around opening doors and closets and even checking the water pressure curiously until Val drops that 'we.' Then he's turning back and lifting his other, still-cold hand to Val's cheek.

It's the strangest feeling, the guilt that comes with his happiness. The others surely need Val and it's not that Kazu doesn't, but it does seem a bit like he's kidnapped the other man to his afterlife or something equally as selfish. Like even though he's certainly alive here, he means less somehow for having been gone. If given the chance, wouldn't Val want to go back? Or is being with him enough of a trade to make being trapped in this place worth it? Kazu's not a secure enough person to keep from worrying about that, even as he smiles at Val gratefully. ]


I didn't want to assume.
