[ Ironically, Kazu's having the same thoughts as Val. He's trying not to think of it as a loss, since even if they'd both survived the war they would have aged out of the tech eventually... it wasn't a shortcut to understanding one another that he could have relied on forever. As important as it had been, as it always will be to Kazu to have had the experience, mindshare was just a tool in the end. It was Val who changed him for the better.
