Ben nods as the other man pulls away the gloves, considering for a moment before digging in his pocket. What he finds is a piece of tee shirt, clean but wrinkled and he holds it out. "Might want to dry them off before the cold and water do any damage. I'm really sorry for running into you. Whatever worries I have over that," he says, waving his hand that way but not looking. "It wasn't worth risking you."
That question makes him silent though, thinking about that. He's not even sure how much he should share but that goes with worrying about how much of this place is real and what's not. It could be a dream, an implanted one, but if that's the case then they already know about what he's been through.
"We're currently trying to overturn an alien invasion with a primary, secondary and pretty much just their goal to annihilate everyone on the planet." He tries to say it matter of fact, lighthearted, but his jaw tightens as he says it, the look in his eyes saying more than his words do.
"Yeah, someone mentioned the death thing but that doesn't change reality. Like how much frostbite hurts, and what it's like when that cold gets into your lungs." He shakes his head, shifting the strap across his chest to settle the rifle more carefully against the spikes hidden beneath his coat. "Look, I don't care what they're doing to test one another or show their love or whatever, but like you said, you didn't do it in the cold either. That's a risk I can't imagine taking for play."
