Even missing a line down her neck Buffy is still waiting for the other shoe to drop. She doubts whoever whisked her away from an okayish life back home ─ demons and vampires aside, isn't really rolling out the red carpet for her. Or anyone for that matter. They're all part of some sick, twisted experiment. Only she's got it better than he does. And why she's wanting to make it a little less harder for him, and for anyone else if she can.
"I promise I'm nothing like..." She nods her head to the pair she'd been staring at. "To be honest I'm pretty sure they got me mixed up with someone else. Just waiting on getting called down to an office to get it all sorted out." Because why would anyone think she'd be capable of taking care of anyone else? Sure, she managed to take care of herself in Los Angeles, but barely.
With an audible exhale her shoulders relax, his smile putting her at ease. "It's nice to meet you, Ben. I'm Buffy." Untangling her fingers from each other she reaches out and takes his hand, careful to shake it without any extra strength. After a beat and having angled herself toward him, she asks, "So, Ben, fellow victim and newbie, where'd they end up taking you from? I'm from a small town in California."
