pierce has always been prone to violence. it's an instinctive, alluring little thing that sends pleasant shivers down his spine and colors his otherwise tanned skin with scars, tears and bruises. he likes fighting not because he enjoys the pain — he can't feel pain — or finds some sick satisfaction in hurting others. he does it because he wants to hurt himself. it isn't something he expects others to understand. but to him, it means he can breathe a little easier.

as a heavy snowstorm rages across the city, pierce walks through the frigid streets dressed in all black: a winter coat over a turtleneck, gloves, jeans and boots. the cold air has left a reddish hue to his nose and cheeks, yet he doesn't seem bothered by the frigid atmosphere.

he should be headed indoors, but it appears he is moving further and further away from the housing district.

if anyone is stuck in the storm, he may lend a hand. but likelier than not, he's just going to mind his own business. )

( the compass pendants have managed to catch his eye. he has to imagine they must be charmed.

picking one up to examine, he considers for a brief moment whether he should purchase one to examine back at his apartment. it could be worth a look into, especially since he already stood witness to its use. he isn't particularly interested in who it would direct him to, but it could be fun to toy with. )

( he leaves the vendor flushed and in good spirit while he twirls the bracelet around on his finger, only to accidentally send it flying into the crowd. )
