He can't help how cool it all sounds to him, and it shows on his face. As a kid who spent most of his life living vicariously through books and television, it's amazing to him to know there's those that were born like that and lived in a world where it was normal and part of life.
Right until she makes it clear it's about all of life and his expression kind of falls as his nose scrunches up. "Okay. Ew. Like sorry I even brought it up, ew."
He's lived in close quarters with troops, he's not immune to knowing about it, and hearing it, but thankfully never his dad and Anne. He'd been spared that, at least.
That gets a nod, even if his expression is still a bit glum. "Yeah. It's been a thing I've kind of clung to. Not being alone." Like he had Denny who had chosen to keep her spikes with him.
He looks around the train. "They mentioned roommates, so I think that's going to be closer than I'd want. Not that I'm not used to close quarters, but I knew everyone in the 2nd Mass."
(ooc: no worries. I'm so up for continuing and slow never bothers me. I'm considering apping in March as well. )
