Her smile mirrored his. It almost felt strange to be smiling again, but he had always found a way to make her smile so easily. It was something rare in her life, both in the city and back home. He seemed to ignite that hope back in her. She wasn’t sure what she could do here, if it was possible to get back what she once had, but she still wanted to help.

But those were conversations for another time. Their reunion was much too important. When he suggested leaving, she nodded. She wasn’t really wearing clothes too appropriate for the snow, but being in his embrace made her momentarily forget. All thoughts of the market did as well.

“Of course,” she nodded. Knowing the city there were a number of places they could slip into or just return to her place. He would never need an invitation there.
