[ the early hours go much the same way as they did the last time. laura reacts...poorly to waking back up in duplicity again. the rounds of depowering guns, the drugs, the guns again -- again, laura is brought down from rage to compliance, and again she's sent out of the building so impaired that she can't walk straight.

all in all, it's a very humbling experience.

she doesn't care so much about the hospital gown, but she cares a lot about the instability. laura has to hug close to the buildings as she walks down the street, each step careful, one hand pressed to the walls for support, and the whole process is tragically slow. her senses still feel dull, they might as well be unresponsive for all the good that they're doing right now. normally laura would pick out an approach a mile off, but right now any interruption catches her off guard. ]

I'm fine. [ she's very clearly not, a more accurate statement might be i don't want any help. her teeth grit, and she takes another few slow steps forward. ] I know where I'm going.

( a. ) [ laura doesn't like this little exercise at all. this wouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's known her for more than a few minutes, but even for the uninitiated, the surly look on her face visible under the blindfold would make her feelings all too clear. if a partner could see it.

she's already itching to argue, but laura bites her tongue. it's easy enough to navigate to her directed spot without coming into contact with anyone — actually she makes a point of it — and when she comes to a standstill her arms fold square over her chest. not a welcoming picture at all, actually. ]

We don't need to explore anything. [ she speaks up as soon as someone comes to a stop in front of her. a kinder, more sympathetic person might try to make it easier on their partner, just as much a forced participant in this as laura is, but her tone stays blunt. she doesn't soften at all, just makes a mildly frustrated sound. ] Let's get this over with.

( b. ) [ her minimal participation doesn't earn her any points though, and laura stays stuck in her position as her partners rotate out. that doesn't stop the wrinkle of her nose, the irritated sigh. her patience is wearing thin, the longer this whole charade goes on, and though laura might be willing to tolerate the exercise itself, she's going to do the absolute least required of her to get through this. ]

If you're thinking of taking advantage of this situation, just know that I can probably kill you before anyone gets close enough to help.

[ just to, you know, set a cute and romantic mood to the moment. at least if her partner isn't blindfolded, they'll get to see her entirely unamused smile. ]
