He retreats into the small bathroom but leaves the door open so he can still call to Chris through it. It's not as if he has anything to hid, having been in the buff this entire time. He turns the water to hot and waits for the temperature to actually reach what he's directed. When they arrived he would have wanted it tepid but the air conditioner had him changing his mind.
