"Yeah ... kind of gotten that impression," Michael said. He'd read enough that he'd seen people talking about time differences. He didn't understand it yet, but he was pretty sure that no one did. Alex had probably been trying like crazy, though.
"Max? Isobel?" Michael asked, probably predictably.
"Yesterday," Michael said. "Or at least that's when I got poked and prodded and shoved in a gown." He wasn't sure he hadn't been out for longer and examined more closely, which made him uneasy as hell. "As okay as I can be when this is happening, I guess."
He was honestly still off balance from the kiss hello. The last he'd seen of Alex had been Alex walking away. Which Michael was used to seeing, but with another guy, this time. That was new, and had crushed a lot of what Michael had been hoping for the last few months. Then his attention had been firmly on his newfound monster father, so ... it wasn't a hello he'd have expected.
