[Eliot's so fucking grateful to have her back for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest is how easily they can just... touch. Physical contact is something he's always craved, and he spends so much of his time and effort trying to ignore his need for it, but he's never had to do that with Margo. They can be as physical as they want, both of them, thoughtlessly and shamelessly, and he could almost cry with how much of a relief it is.
Actually, there's a lot he could cry about right now, but he gamely tries to press through for the moment. He deliberately doesn't want to spend too much time on the immediate aftermath of Quentin's death, or he really will break down again.]
Yeah. I don't, um, you were with me during the surgery, so that's why we weren't there. We had a, I guess a memorial? Since we couldn't do a funeral And then, uh, there was something going on with Fillory, like, it had jumped forward in time by a few hundred years and was being controlled by someone called the Dark King. I, uh... I was pretty drunk most of the time, while all this was going on, so. Details aren't gonna be my strong suit.
But, we were trying to focus on getting you your throne back, and saving Fen and Josh. Which, you and Josh were kind of a thing? I don't know for sure how serious a thing, but a thing. And we, um, I'll try and get my thoughts together more later, a lot of stuff happened, but Fillory was destroyed. You got everyone out in time, and we had this... spell, to create a new world, so you, uh. That's where you went.
[He has to take another moment to hold his emotions back. When he starts speaking again, his voice is small. Hurt.]
You left me. I, I couldn't cast, I'd, my fingers were broken. So you and Josh and Fen and, and Alice for some reason, you went to New Fillory, and... and I couldn't find you. We didn't have a portal, and Penny couldn't locate it since he'd never been there, so... so it was just me. I tried to find you, but I couldn't figure it out on my own and everyone else had their own stuff going on, and Q was gone, so. Henry let me work at Brakebills, I guess since he felt sorry for me or something. And that's what I was doing when I got brought here.
[He shrugs, tears finally starting to fall down his cheeks.]
