Layering is its own language among his people, and deliberately displaying one garment beneath another in this way certainly would be considered titillating. It is a provocative choice for him, though here he is certain it would barely rate as notable to anyone else. Still, he must begin to step out of his comfort zone somewhere if he is to be prepared for what life in this city will inevitably ask of him.

"If there is an underlayer that would work well, I am open to the idea," he acquiesces.

As to wearing white--head-to-toe white, at least--it's simply a matter of not wanting to look into a mirror and feel like he is about to attend a mandated day of worship.

"Of course," he says smoothly, pleasantly. Detached politeness is a natural and easy modality to step into. "It is a matter of my own association with the symbolism rather than a concern about others recognizing it."

While he is very good at deflecting, especially regarding this subject, as far as Essek is concerned he might as well be holding up a sign declaring I have a complex regarding socio-religious institution and its role in my life.
