To say that Mac is not impressed with the situation would be a serious understatement.
As he understands his current dilemna, he has been transported by unknown means to an unknown city with a society that includes a Dominant/Submissive culture where 'new arrivals' are 'assigned' one of the two designations.
Fact: This is impossible.
Fact: He is here and he isn't dreaming.
Fact: He has been assigned as Submissive, given a collar and a room at the equivalent of a boarding house. There, he switched his paper gown for the clothes he had pulled from a basket on the floor that morning. They were clean, he just hadn't made the time to put them away.
His blonde hair is a bit shaggy and probably needs a trim, but who has time for stuff like that when the world needs saving every other damn day? Neither his blue eyes nor usually curved-up-at-the-corners lips were smiling right now.
So, Mac accepts the brochure from a man who gives him a disparaging look that says 'yokel' and climbs the bus wearing blue jeans, an MIT tee-shirt under a blue plaid button-down, socks, runners and his favourite brown leather jacket. Sunglasses in place, he makes his way to the back of the crowded bus and uses his free hand to hold on to one of the poles.
Seats are, apparently, for Dominants.
Jack would've started a fight right out of the gate...
