He smiled softly as his heart slowly started working its way to its normal rhythm. His touch over her back gentle, a delicateness to it compared to the earlier roughness. He lifted his head up slightly, his gaze tender taking in how she was relaxing on top of him.

It made his heart ache in the memory of the last four years. But she didn’t remember him now, and if it hadn’t been for the bus, he wouldn’t have her back in his arms now.
