Signy is the captain of a ship with thousands of troops onboard, who's been fighting Earth's war against Union for as long as Earth had the stomach to continue, and then served the interests of the Merchanter's Alliance. There's almost nothing that can make her in the mood for arts and crafts.
"You do it," she says to the submissive she's been paired with. "I'll keep an eye out for trouble." She looks in her mid thirties, with silver-gray hair and an undeniably military bearing, although her clothes are no uniform, just a captain’s patch sewn onto an ordinary jacket. Her eyes are cold and older than the rest of her.

Signy is not a woman given to whims. She can make a rapid assessment of a situation and set herself on a path without second-guessing herself, but that’s a very different feeling from tracking someone halfway across this damn city just because she caught a smell she likes.
On the other hand, Signy is very used to achieving her objectives once she’s set her mind to them. It’s a simple matter to track down the smell of cinnamon or musk, and then to study them with an intensity she makes no attempt to hide.
“You,” she says, “Come with me somewhere private.” She hasn’t drawn a weapon, but her attitude is one of threat as much as it is sexual interest.
