I'm not trying to be opportunistic. I've helped others with this before, and I'll be the first to tell you this situation becomes much easier when handled willingly, within the bounds we've been given. You have enough power, at least, to choose what you do, and who you trust enough to do it with.
If you don't want to, then yes, I understand why, and I won't push it. But if you don't make that choice, someone else is going to do it for you, one way or the other, and you might like their answer much less than one you decided on yourself.
