The mage had been bracing himself for her to pounce and gladly, she hadn't. He didn't yet have the energy for that sort of exuberance. Thankfully he didn't have to deal with it and she seemed to remember that about him. Or she was tired from her fight, too, one or the other he supposed worked in his favour. He had it explained, about the mark and it did make sense with the other things he had seen around the town when he decided to take his all day train ride after getting his things.
