His cowter was rounded and gleaming, the curved metal cool under the hand at his elbow. He allowed himself to be guided, having no reason not to. The result was desirable after all, more distance between him and the display.

For the first time he smiled. It reached his eyes. "I'm fine, thank you. You needn't trouble yourself." He drew up a bit taller and allowed his gaze to travel around the open exposition area. His cheeks were pink by the time he finished.
"I think I'm probably going to head back to my quarters. It's likely for the best. You've been kind to indulge me. Perhaps we'll meet again under less awkward circumstances."
