Oh! It's something that sort of...encapsulates everything that's good and bad about America in a book. My focus in college was on British literature, not American, but I had to take a couple of courses in American lit for the credits. My professors seemed split between F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemmingway for who actually managed to pull it off.
