Just like Bass hadn't pressed the flicker in Alex's expression, Alex didn't press that 'we'. It could be that Bass was talking about someone who was here. After all, just because Alex hadn't met anyone he knew in the seeming ten minutes he'd been here, it didn't mean he wouldn't find people he knew who'd been sucked up into whatever this place was. But it was also possible that Alex was alone and that 'we' was a sore subject.

Instead, he forced a chuckle and shook his head. "I never thought I'd use 'alien museum expert' on my resume again. I suppose that means I'm going to have to make friends so I can get someone to vouch for me."

Not that he exactly liked the idea of putting his fate in someone else's hands, but it'd been there for the last ten years of his life. What was a little longer?
