Bass was back to his default "we" for any discussion of life pre-September 12, 2012. There wasn't really another "we," to be part of, apparently. Certainly not here.

He did know a forced chuckle when he heard it though--he was very familiar with giving them, himself. He wasn't sure what to make of it, though, and, honestly, couldn't muster enough emotional connection to push into empathy and try and figure it out.

He's not very good at it, to be honest, but he can get away with it as a Dominant. It's harder for Submissives.
