It's the first association that comes to mind, only this time, Vrenille doesn't say it, at least in part because it poses a question to him as well, the fact that he thought that: is love avoided by all? ...Or is that merely the partiality of his world view speaking. And if it is, what might that say about the commonality of his own experience and Ed's?

But then again, maybe Ed's thinking of something else completely and Vrenille's not got the answer at all.
