[ Prudence is surprised by the depth of empathy she feels -- rarely does she have any of that to spare, particularly for a stranger -- but she can relate, in a way. More than she'd like to admit, even to herself. She was raised within the walls of her school believing she was an orphan her entire life, alone but for her sisters (also orphans, but her sisters in all but blood just the same). Even when she did learn who her father was, he denied claim to her until she'd finally proven herself useful enough to him, shown herself to be ruthless like he was.
If not for her sisters and her coven, Prudence feels like she might have been totally alone in the world. Lost, alone, worthless. A witch without a coven has no one to rely on at all but themselves. ]
