She hears something like hurt, maybe buried deep or moved on from, in his voice when he speaks of warning signs. It's a natural instinct to reach out for him, place her hand on his upper arm as a means of comforting him, even if he doesn't need it.

And it probably doesn't hurt as reassurance, too, when his expression drops like that.

"You and Liz got a little sticky fingered when it came to outfitting a lab to get Max back, and then to figure out all the science stuff that comes with being friends with aliens," she explains. "Someone noticed. But then someone looked out for you, I think."

She moves to follow him to the coffee shop, letting her hand linger on his arm perhaps a little too long. Nice definition in those arms, Valenti.
