She looks at him then, considering for a moment, then a smile starts to perk up her lips. Maria can tell that he means it, that he would do it again, and it's so far away from the guy he had been way back when. Her hand goes to his cheek briefly, before she realizes it's still a little damp. With a soft giggle and apologetic look, she tries to wipe away the water with a slightly drier back of her hand.

"You're a good man, Kyle Valenti," she says. "I'm glad you realized that."

She steps into the coffee shop, trying to ignore the closeness to Kyle as she does, and throws back the hood of her rain gear carefully.

"Um... I think Liz said a girl? Your girlfriend, maybe?" She gives him another apologetic look. "Sorry. I only get pieces out of her and I think that was something she wanted you to keep for yourself, you know?"
