She looks even more sheepish, wincing a touch. Perhaps trying to casually slide that fact into the conversation was not the best way to go about it, but Alex hadn't, as far as she knew, been angry that Maria and Michael were together. He seemed fine. She hopes the same can be said for this Alex.

"Yeah, that... happened," she admits, looking away a little. "After the sleeping together, after... a few bumps, we decided to start over so to speak and give it a go. You and he weren't a thing at the time, obviously. It wasn't like that at all."

She does lick her lips however and give a small, halfhearted shrug.

"But it still happened. I'm sorry?"
