For the past five years, Cal had carried his master's death on his shoulders, along with the uncertainty of how many others survived and the knowledge that very few probably did. When he never heard anything from the Council, and when Cere revealed that the Council was gone, like he'd feared, it was like he'd been carrying the weight of the entire Jedi Order too. Even if he didn't know Master Kenobi personally, and even though this death would happen over a decade into his future, it pains him to hear it.
