TDM #2

« « « OUT OF CLUTTER FIND SIMPLICITY

It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. Yet, solace is found in the lies we tell each other, comforted by the peace of knowing that we're not alone in our depravity, and once on this path, sin itself becomes the lesser of two evils masked in a cloud of normalcy.

This is how Duplicity has functioned since the beginning. The divide of power and social standing is overt in that Dominants influence the decisions made both publicly and privately while Submissives cater to the rules presented to them. It is the way of Duplicity to assign random designations at birth with no leeway in altering what has been given. Climate in the Up is far stricter than that of the Down; violating outlined personas for a Dominant or Submissive while in full view of others is punished by degree of infraction. In the Down, many tend to turn a blind eye to these sorts of offenses.

To counteract the discovery of the Deceit Gene – a natural "negative" response to all stimuli – the L.I.E.S. program was founded. The program had been designed to introduce new subjects to the current environment and test for the Deceit Gene through immersion in Duplicity's standing society. Sexual impulses and encounters increase the chances of detecting the gene within these individuals. Participants are typically released from L.I.E.S. after a year; however, results have remained unsatisfactory and testing still continues.

You’re here! Finally! Welcome to Duplicity.

After choosing a door and stepping through to the other side, the first thing that greets you are the enthusiastic faces of people in medical scrubs and pristine lab coats. Their enthusiasm translates to eagerness as they strip you of your clothes to perform a thorough examination—you will be healed, bathed, and given a paper gown to wear until your items can be processed and delivered to your residence later in the evening. You are also given a device that accesses the network as well as the time and location of orientation.

If you enter Duplicity into the Up, congratulations! You’re a Dominant, which means you are immediately picked up by a limo after processing and taken to your highrise. Here, it is two Dominants per floor with separate apartments. If you enter Duplicity into the Down, congratulations! You’re a Submissive, which means you are directed towards public transportation with the address of the motel you’ll be living in. Here, it is two Submissives per room with a shared common space for all rooms. Either way it's raining! Still.

Enjoy your free time until orientation! Participation is mandatory by all new arrivals.

» » » LIES TRAVEL IN COMPANY

The day after stepping through the door and participating in orientation, LIERS are assembled together in the Up for a tour of Duplicity in its entirety. Seats are in pairs and randomly assigned to Dominants and Submissives alike. Traveling from Fiddler's Square, the train journeys through various parts of the Up, showcasing society and examples of lifestyle. Along the way, frequent stops are made; a variety of passengers can be seen exiting and entering the doors. A Dominant with a kneeling Submissive takes a seat near the front of the train at one stop. A small group of Submissives board and sit closer to the LIERS at another, all seemingly content in their roles. As the tour continues through the Up, the train passes close to the Market and White Wall Bridge and zips by North Park before heading into the Down and bypassing Red Wall Bridge and South Park.

The train makes a "final" stop at Riddler's Square, where inhabitants of the Down are instructed to return to their temporary housing. Those who live in the Up are permitted to stay on the train and revisit the same locations while returning.

« « « A. WAIST. OF. LEEWAYS.

The rain continues to drizzle, but it’s finally slowing enough for the citizens of Duplicity to catch their breath. With the influx of new LIERS, people make quick work of fixing the damages from Tumenalia—a combination of preparation and wanting to welcome more participants to orientation.

Typically, travel between the Up and the Down is rather seamless with the use of the elevators, and with the end of the holiday comes a regular schedule for transportation between the two areas of Duplicity. Yet, mysterious powers are at play once again. Or so it seems. Stepping onto the elevators does not deliver its occupants to their desired location; instead, they are ushered into rooms designed to be escaped. There are a variety of themes, but the most popular seem to be Room A, Room B, and Room C. While they follow the usual guidelines for any escape room, there are a few “catches” that might not be noticeable at first. Each clue is only accessible to those of the corresponding designation. Submissives are responsible for unlocking the first and third of the three clues, and even if a Dominant figures out what it is and how to use it, they will not be any closer to escaping unless the Submissive plays a key role in interacting with these clues.

Things to note about these rooms: the third clue requires some sort of sexual engagement to be considered “clear” of it. After the allotted time of one (1) hour, if those inside haven’t managed to escape, the Submissives will be removed from the room and the Dominants will remain until they can successfully help the new Submissives escape the room. Each time, the clues will be reset and change; they will never be the same.

» » » THE KEY TO HEARTS

Meanwhile, in the Down, a local charity organization has sent out notices for a black-tie fundraiser to be held during the evening to raise awareness of homeless Submissive children. Invitations are sent via the devices, and there are even fliers posted all across the Up and the Down. If in attendance of the event, the waitstaff will be taking down the names of all uncontracted Submissives; no other explanation of what it’s for is mentioned throughout the evening. And while donations are completely voluntary, any contributions made helps to further the main endeavor of the cause. However, it seems most people are present to network and find someone that might fill a contract slot. So, eat, drink, and dance until it all winds down and everyone decides to go home. The only “catch”? Dominants draw the name of one Submissive to accompany them back to the Up, and those who are left will be paired up for the sake of no one leaving alone.

« « « MOD & OOC NOTES

Please read carefully.

Dominant and Submissive TDM assignments: All characters whose first name begins with the following ( A, C, E, G, I, K, M, O, Q, S, U, W, and Y ) are Dominants. All characters whose first name begins with the following ( B, D, F, H, J, L, N, P, R, T, V, X, and Z ) are Submissives. Players with characters that are a number use the first letter to spell that number. To use this TDM as a door pass please link this on your app and place whether it is dominant or submissive.

For the escape room prompt players can make up the clues they find. They may be extremely sexual or something simple like moving a painting off a wall.

Also, any locations throughout Duplicity are available for TDM prompts as well!

Please remember to mark any necessary content, and have fun!!

Leo Watch | Blood Blockade Battlefront | Submissive

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-14 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
~A waist of Leeways~ Room A

Dont mind him. He was just contemplating whether he could actually climb up to that cage that was just sort of sitting there. He was pretty sure the clue was on the floor of it, in a little envelope, but Leo, being 5'3", was pathetically small for this task.

"Are you really just trying to fuck with me?!" Leo muttered, trying his very best to get it and failing miserably. First he gets sent to a strange city, and now he's being mocked for his height. Wonderful. "If I don't get this, I can't solve the riddle! Gimme a break here!!"

~Key to Hearts~
This reminded him of the high-brow parties he'd been to with his time in Libra, but Leo distinctly remembered not having the threat of being paired up hanging over him. He just stuck by the bar, just getting a drink from the incredulous bartender. Leo would snort at the irony of this city being worried about giving minors alcohol, but he wasn't a minor, and he also didn't really care.

His eyes were closed, but anyone who passed by him would feel the distinct feeling they were being watched.

ooc: leo has the eyes of the gods as a special thing of his, which means he's able to see the true form of anything he looks at, as well as see past illusions. It's just the tdm so it will probably be easy to fudge, but im just putting a note here so you can be warned. He's not a mean person, either way.

Ignis is not surprised that even a so-called charity auction would have to play on their whole dominant/submissive system, but he's still up for a party and a drink and so he decided to attend. On his way to the bar, he noticed someone sitting there, eyes closed...but it still strangely felt like he was being watched. He frowned and sat next to the young man.

"Are you one of the homeless children? I'm surprised they brought you here..." He says softly and kindly., although he really isn't surprised at much by this point.

Leo just slid his eyes over to the unfairly tall and handsome man who decided to sit next to him; not that he could tell. "Excuse me? I'm 20. And honestly the apartment they gave me isn't the worst one I've stayed in."
coffeeandfire: (bashful)

"Ah, my apologies. I shouldn't have assumed." Ignis offered a bow as an apology. "I haven't seen you around before. Are you part of that new batch people are talking about?"

He honestly doesn't know why the overseers of this place saw the need to add even more unfortunate souls into this world, but, well, here we are.

"Hey, no problem. And yeah, you'd be right. Want a drink too? This place fuckin' makes you want one. I don't even drink that much." He was barely even buzzed, but the alcohol was at least making his tongue looser and more rambly than usual.

Somehow, this young man's brashness was refreshing. He nodded, motioning for the bartender to get him a drink.

"You would be right. This place is exhausting..."

"I'm guessing you're one of the people who came here before...." Leo sighed, laying himself across the bar. "I suppose I should be thankful this place is way safer than where I came from, but I could do without the whole unequal social stratification."
coffeeandfire: (dazed)

[personal profile] coffeeandfire 2018-10-15 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"It is quite ridiculous." Ignis nodded. "For whatever it's worth, I suppose it's good you're safe for now. " He sipped at his drink. "...This place is already driving me mad."
iseeall: (neutral)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Leo would like to say that since this guy looked like one of the Doms who had everything, it couldn't have been that bad, but there was something in the man's expression that just....stopped him. "My name is Leonardo Watch. But you can just call me Leo."

And held out his hand to shake.
coffeeandfire: (amused smirk)

[personal profile] coffeeandfire 2018-10-15 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ignis took the hand extended to him and shook it, smiling softly.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Leo. I'm Ignis Scientia, but you can just call me Ignis."
purered: (Sure are a lot of words for dingledangle)

A Waist of Leeways

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-15 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
The elevator didn't open to where he'd expected it to which was... troubling. More troubling than his present predicament. More troubling than the amount of tranquilizers that had been shot into him to keep him in line - it seemed he couldn't brute force his way out of this.

He was still quite dazed, and he reflexively stepped off only to find himself in a room full of cages. And...

"...Leonardo?"

He blinked, tugged off his spectacles, rubbed his eyes, and replaced them. It couldn't be - surely he was hallucinating?
iseeall: (okay then.)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Uhhhhhh......" Was the only sound out of his mouth when he heard that voice. Please, he prayed to any higher being he hadn't cursed out yet. Please do not let Klaus be there when I turn around.

But he turned around and Klaus was there and Leo wanted to immediately die.

No, really, he was absolutely glad someone he trusted was here but in this type of situation??? And with the mark on his neck. "Hi, Mr. Klaus. What are you doing here?"
purered: (Bewilderment intensifying)

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-15 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Klaus was too groggy to want to go crawl under the nearest rock, otherwise the feeling would have been mutual. Probably coupled with some righteous outrage that, of all people, Leo was here.

"I was going for-"

He stepped forward, stumbled, and grabbed a pillory to prop himself upright.

"...I was going to get some air to clear my head. I didn't respond particularly well to the... news."

It was clear that whatever tranquilizers they'd had to use to keep Klaus Von Reinherz down were still in his system. His pupils were blown wide, leaving only a thin ring of green around them.

"...This is..." He looked around. Klaus had a rather insulated life, but he recognized the sort of equipment around them.

"...Not my floor."
iseeall: (suprise)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
He was not expecting for Klaus to be so clumsy, so Leo abandoned his escapade with the cage and rushed over to help support him. Well, what little that would do at least. "I can see that-what the hell did they do to you?"

He wasn't very agreeable when he came out of the door, but he also wasn't a 300 pound wall of muscle. "They keep sticking us in escape rooms, and you're in one now. Are you okay?"
purered: (Rest assured)

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-15 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"...Elephant tranquilizer," Klaus murmured. "Or something similar."

It was about the only thing that would actually keep him down for any length of time. His unique constitution made it difficult for drugs to have much in ways of lasting effects - a bit of a double edged sword when it came to him needing some kind of anesthetic.

"I'm alright, thank you," Klaus reassured, finally righting himself. He was careful not to put any of his weight on Leo lest he crush the man. He glanced back to the elevator but it seemed to have already gone.

"We could try climbing down the elevator shaft," he suggested. He could certainly manage to pry the doors open, even in this state.
iseeall: (listening)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, I really don't think that's a good idea." Not only was Klaus staggering around like a drunken moose, but he really didn't want to test what these people would do if they tried to escape. "Seriously. At least wait until we get out of this room-if we work together it'll be easy."
purered: (Intel Exchange)

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-15 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Klaus frowned, but eventually gave a nod of acquiescence. His judgment was probably not the best it ever was, and if he was having trouble keeping himself upright, getting down a whole elevator shaft was probably a bad idea. He could wind up seriously hurting Leo.

"Of course. I can start looking the place over. Have you found anything yet?"
iseeall: (neutral)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Okay good. Klaus was less likely to go into a wall punching rage now. They could talk after getting out of this room, but Leo really needed to focus right now. "Well, the one clue I'm supposed to get as a Sub is up in that cage, and I can't reach it. We have to start there."
purered: (Natural habitat)

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-15 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Another nod, and Klaus followed Leo to the said cage. It was too high to reach, even for Klaus's considerable size, so, with his brain not exactly firing on all cylinders yet, he decided the best course of action was to wordlessly lift Leo up to reach inside.

"Is this high enough?" Klaus asked, radiating a drowsy sort of helpfulness.
iseeall: (dead)

[personal profile] iseeall 2018-10-15 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that solved that problem at least, and there was no one else in the room to get embarrassed by. Leo quickly snatched the envelope from the bottom of the cage, patting his arm to tell Klaus let him down.

Frankly, he was still kind of worried about Klaus being high off of whatever they gave him, but he was equally afraid what he'd try if left to his own devices. "I got it. It's an envelope with a piece of paper."

Leo quickly ripped it open to read it, quickly growing confused when it was just a bunch of random symbols. Looking around, he saw the symbols were on a lot of the furniture and appliances around the room. "Don't tell me we have to search all of them...."
purered: (Intel Exchange)

[personal profile] purered 2018-10-16 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Klaus gently set Leo down, peering at the paper he'd acquired. Klaus had always been good at finding patterns in things, and his memory, while not quite eidetic, was close as could be.

"It's a sequence," he remarked, some of the grogginess beginning to wear off as he was able to think more clearly. "We should try to follow the symbols around the room - likely starting here."
