TDM #2
« « « TEST DRIVE MEME » » »
It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. Yet, solace is found in the lies we tell each other, comforted by the peace of knowing that we're not alone in our depravity, and once on this path, sin itself becomes the lesser of two evils masked in a cloud of normalcy. This is how Duplicity has functioned since the beginning. The divide of power and social standing is overt in that Dominants influence the decisions made both publicly and privately while Submissives cater to the rules presented to them. It is the way of Duplicity to assign random designations at birth with no leeway in altering what has been given. Climate in the Up is far stricter than that of the Down; violating outlined personas for a Dominant or Submissive while in full view of others is punished by degree of infraction. In the Down, many tend to turn a blind eye to these sorts of offenses. To counteract the discovery of the Deceit Gene – a natural "negative" response to all stimuli – the L.I.E.S. program was founded. The program had been designed to introduce new subjects to the current environment and test for the Deceit Gene through immersion in Duplicity's standing society. Sexual impulses and encounters increase the chances of detecting the gene within these individuals. Participants are typically released from L.I.E.S. after a year; however, results have remained unsatisfactory and testing still continues. You’re here! Finally! Welcome to Duplicity. After choosing a door and stepping through to the other side, the first thing that greets you are the enthusiastic faces of people in medical scrubs and pristine lab coats. Their enthusiasm translates to eagerness as they strip you of your clothes to perform a thorough examination—you will be healed, bathed, and given a paper gown to wear until your items can be processed and delivered to your residence later in the evening. You are also given a device that accesses the network as well as the time and location of orientation. If you enter Duplicity into the Up, congratulations! You’re a Dominant, which means you are immediately picked up by a limo after processing and taken to your highrise. Here, it is two Dominants per floor with separate apartments. If you enter Duplicity into the Down, congratulations! You’re a Submissive, which means you are directed towards public transportation with the address of the motel you’ll be living in. Here, it is two Submissives per room with a shared common space for all rooms. Either way it's raining! Still. Enjoy your free time until orientation! Participation is mandatory by all new arrivals. |
![]() The day after stepping through the door and participating in orientation, LIERS are assembled together in the Up for a tour of Duplicity in its entirety. Seats are in pairs and randomly assigned to Dominants and Submissives alike. Traveling from Fiddler's Square, the train journeys through various parts of the Up, showcasing society and examples of lifestyle. Along the way, frequent stops are made; a variety of passengers can be seen exiting and entering the doors. A Dominant with a kneeling Submissive takes a seat near the front of the train at one stop. A small group of Submissives board and sit closer to the LIERS at another, all seemingly content in their roles. As the tour continues through the Up, the train passes close to the Market and White Wall Bridge and zips by North Park before heading into the Down and bypassing Red Wall Bridge and South Park. The train makes a "final" stop at Riddler's Square, where inhabitants of the Down are instructed to return to their temporary housing. Those who live in the Up are permitted to stay on the train and revisit the same locations while returning. |
![]() The rain continues to drizzle, but it’s finally slowing enough for the citizens of Duplicity to catch their breath. With the influx of new LIERS, people make quick work of fixing the damages from Tumenalia—a combination of preparation and wanting to welcome more participants to orientation. Typically, travel between the Up and the Down is rather seamless with the use of the elevators, and with the end of the holiday comes a regular schedule for transportation between the two areas of Duplicity. Yet, mysterious powers are at play once again. Or so it seems. Stepping onto the elevators does not deliver its occupants to their desired location; instead, they are ushered into rooms designed to be escaped. There are a variety of themes, but the most popular seem to be Room A, Room B, and Room C. While they follow the usual guidelines for any escape room, there are a few “catches” that might not be noticeable at first. Each clue is only accessible to those of the corresponding designation. Submissives are responsible for unlocking the first and third of the three clues, and even if a Dominant figures out what it is and how to use it, they will not be any closer to escaping unless the Submissive plays a key role in interacting with these clues. Things to note about these rooms: the third clue requires some sort of sexual engagement to be considered “clear” of it. After the allotted time of one (1) hour, if those inside haven’t managed to escape, the Submissives will be removed from the room and the Dominants will remain until they can successfully help the new Submissives escape the room. Each time, the clues will be reset and change; they will never be the same. |
![]() Meanwhile, in the Down, a local charity organization has sent out notices for a black-tie fundraiser to be held during the evening to raise awareness of homeless Submissive children. Invitations are sent via the devices, and there are even fliers posted all across the Up and the Down. If in attendance of the event, the waitstaff will be taking down the names of all uncontracted Submissives; no other explanation of what it’s for is mentioned throughout the evening. And while donations are completely voluntary, any contributions made helps to further the main endeavor of the cause. However, it seems most people are present to network and find someone that might fill a contract slot. So, eat, drink, and dance until it all winds down and everyone decides to go home. The only “catch”? Dominants draw the name of one Submissive to accompany them back to the Up, and those who are left will be paired up for the sake of no one leaving alone. |
Please read carefully. Dominant and Submissive TDM assignments: All characters whose first name begins with the following ( A, C, E, G, I, K, M, O, Q, S, U, W, and Y ) are Dominants. All characters whose first name begins with the following ( B, D, F, H, J, L, N, P, R, T, V, X, and Z ) are Submissives. Players with characters that are a number use the first letter to spell that number. To use this TDM as a door pass please link this on your app and place whether it is dominant or submissive. For the escape room prompt players can make up the clues they find. They may be extremely sexual or something simple like moving a painting off a wall. Also, any locations throughout Duplicity are available for TDM prompts as well! Please remember to mark any necessary content, and have fun!! |

Your desperation burns beyond any of the horrors visited upon me, you drooling dog.
[Ouch... that's one of those multi-tiered burns. Apparently the object of his affections has taken a class in the fine art of the diss, and she doesn't seem too impressed by yet another tiresome iteration of his self-aggrandizing speeches. Dismissing him with a fluid turn of her heel, it's hard not to hear the mockery and the maliciousness in her tone.]
Perhaps they should find a leash for you. Seeing you dragged through the streets by your scrawny neck would at least bring me some amusement.
[She's turned her back, but she's no fool. If he insists on following, whatever, she's not going anywhere anytime soon. Other than somewhere to ease her incoming migraine.]

It is almost charming that you think it is so easy to hurt me, Saber. Apparently you do retain an innocent side, even in this supposedly mature state.
[ if being dumped in the literal embodiment of incarnate evil did not faze Gilgamesh even slightly, you really think a few barbs will? tsk.
but never mind about that. this Saber's contempt does not arouse that same fire in Gilgamesh anyway. she is a fallen woman. from her pure counterpart, that hatred is exquisitely beautiful to strum, but contempt from a woman bathed in it has lost its sweet flavor. though she may still be interesting in other ways. that remains to be seen. ]
But do not worry. I did not come with the intention of imparting my love onto this body of yours.
I merely wanted to see how you were faring in this new world -- to impart friendly advice, it may be said. After all, I have the knowledge of it and you do not. To be speaking to me on the street, you must be quite lost indeed.

Is that not the trademark of your class? Paper thin defenses and primitive guerrilla tactics.
[Shh, Artoria, you know Sabers are weak to Archers in that crazy world with all the copies of you.
She does find his confession... curious. Her eyes flit briefly back to his, if only because she doesn't believe he can control his legendary libido for a hot minute, but for the moment he's managed to restrain himself and that's enough to earn her attention.]
I presume the Grail failed to make the jump with us, as I've failed to detect its presence thus far. Nor is there any governing body for a proper war.

Gilgamesh, for a change, considers what it would actually be prudent to tell this Saber. how much would she believe, and how much would she have to see for herself? before Tumenalia, his only interest in Duplicity had been, as it ever was, his own amusement, but after the world had decided to commit the one unforgivable sin of attempting to force him into a subservient position in spite of his Dominant status, he has been in the throes of wanting a serious and full-fledged rebellion. of course, for such a thing to exist, even he would require help to fight the powers that be. this of course is not something he is particularly desirous to admit, and something he is still having some difficulty acknowledging.
it is rather strange to think that this Saber is in many ways rather similar to him... "legendary libido" aside. well, maybe, as to that latter issue. he would have no way of knowing. but the icy demeanor, the inability to be wounded by the pain of others, the isolation, the depravity even in her description of her former self matching what he would do -- it is rather striking. of course similarity in such people only breeds its own forms of contempt, yet it is almost ... ironic to think she is now better poised to understand his mind, the tyrannical mind, than she is her beloved former companions, though she would never view it in such a light. ]
Ahahaha, you are correct. There is no Grail War here. This world, however, is rather like the Grail: it forces out the darkness in you. If you are thinking that should pose no difficulty for you, given the curses you have endured, or your Dominant class, you should also know that your status may be affected in other ways.
Hmph... during a recent festival of depravity, many were forced into mental subservience to the wishes of others.
[ including him -- well, he does not say; he avoided the worst of it by resisting with his notorious will power, but the mental strain was nearly enough to black out. ]
Even I, King of Knights, would cross blades with you another day. For now, my priority is to cut down those who seek to rule over me. I presume you were put through the orientation, and heard some of the "nonsense" you mentioned.

It's not the worst way to rule. If nothing else, she can empathize with that sort of cruel-hearted perspective a lot more now. What a wretched fate, to be something like similar.]
Allow me to make myself absolutely clear: I've no desire for bloody animosity between us. Respect the dignity of my station and so it shall remain.
[Definitely not a free pass for him to misbehave. But she's agreeing with him: I won't if you don't. Again, she'd curb stomp him at the soonest chance and he'd deserve every bit of it, but she's without a Master and most notably without a power source. Just like Gilgamesh wouldn't admit to his weakness, Saber won't admit to her own.
There's no winning in this kind of condition, and when you're going against a guy who can pull anything and everything out his dumb interdimensional hat, it's unwise to instigate.]
I have no fear of darkness, however. Imprisonment is an illusion, and humiliation I will not abide.
[So proud! She holds her head so high, maybe not so apart from her shadow after all.]
well, this went from shitposty to ... more serious
and yet, there were some individuals, driven by lofty ideals, who did attempt to exceed the bounds of the fragile masses. in taking the dreams of an entire country on her shoulders, Arturia had been such a woman. of course, it fascinated Gilgamesh, even as he mocked her, derided her, and sought to relish the pain of her downfall. had there been even the slightest respect or hint of something more in his twisted obsession? that would be impossible to say, perhaps even for him; he is half-divine, and what he calls love would forever be intermingled with brutality, as his view of existence and life is inseparable from harshness. could he have believed that woman to be some kindred spirit all along, in some deep recesses of her heart? the proof stands before him now, if so. ]
Is that so, King of Knights? Animosity may happen whether you or I desires it. This land has a tendency to act upon the mind. [ well, it would be easy enough to deduce that she is probably without a Master, although so is he for the time being... though he has some options, and he may act on them, if it means access to further power.
imprisonment is an illusion. really, he almost laughs. this could be word for word something he would say. he had something like that, on arriving here, when others had wondered why he was so calm. in many respects, he still believes this deeply, but he's growing much more rebellious now, day by day.
Gilgamesh waves his hand. she has not walked away yet, and he takes note of the serious look in her eyes. a small ghost of a smile plays on his lips as he walks forward nonchalantly, hands folded beneath his robes. ]
Allow me to show you the Up, and we may speak further. I am certain you are already desiring more of that disgusting food. [ he shrugs. ] Make no mistake: I have only one companion until the end of time, but you will not find another here who comprehends ruthlessness and does not attach emotion to human interaction.
[ they would bring their needs, their feelings, and their tears, would they not? but how does she know he is not just trying to manipulate her? well, when had he ever hidden his intentions?
it is simply pragmatic: she sounds so like him now, in at least some ways. ]
50% shit, 50% post, 100% kings bein kings
[Just in case he'd thought she'd somehow gone soft. She cares not one wit for his life, if she might be the one to scour it away or if it's claimed by some other careless action he's bound to commit. She also just doesn't care enough to act with any degree of aggression if it's not imposed upon her first.
Honestly, the truth of it isn't that she became something vile, but rather something terribly lazy and dangerously apathetic. Isn't that what nearly ruined the first king among them all?]
...hmph. So long as it's your wallet and my stomach, I'll accept your offer.
[One companion? Well, that's one more than she thought you had, Gilgamess, so congratulations. You're really are on the Up and Up here.
Saber falls into stride beside him. Not ahead, not behind, but beside. It might be a subtle statement of equality or it might just be that she doesn't know up from down in this strange place and could use a guide, though undoubtedly such a decision will lead to suffering. And annoyance. And temper tantrums.
Even with a fresh coat of paint, she's still the same brat she always was - now just extremely goal-oriented. That goal being food.]
r u sure about this, Saber
Laziness, apathy -- yes, those are his vices, at least from this earlier stage of his life in which he has been summoned. But for all of that, Gilgamesh enjoys life to the fullest, in every measure. He wonders if this Saber has learned to do the same, and yet, with her... condition, how could that be possible? ]
Ah, have your appetites grown so, Saber?
[ -- he tilts his head, smiling a bit sharply at her as she falls into step beside him. his brow furrows ever so minutely at this shift, but he does not protest it. this is... surreal, to say the least. on the one hand, he views himself as the King who stands with no one, but on the other hand, being alongside Saber is certain to be entertaining. even if it is this Saber. maybe especially this Saber. ]
Hmph -- but very well. A King must show his grandeur to the people. I shall provide for you a great banquet of savory animal flesh, though I disapprove of this loathsome modern method of food preparation.
[ IN HIS DAY, you walked fifteen miles in the
snowCedar Forest to roast your bulls and Humbaba heart. HMPH.something something, they walked through the modern, scenic, fog-surrounded streets of the Up, the carnality of Tumenalia already being washed and cleaned away as though it had never transpired to begin with -- impressive -- and Gilgamesh pretends he has thought this out.
he strides along all... kingly and purposeful, arms folded, before stopping before one building and turning, eyes narrowing. ]
"The Naughty Persian," is it?
Persian -- merely mongrels who took over from those Elamites; their empires have already fallen. Very well, it would please me as a superior King to mock those doomed followers of Cyrus and Xerxes. Shall we go in, Saber?
nope but im da boss so she doin it (and also him)
