It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. Yet, solace is found in the lies we tell each other, comforted by the peace of knowing that we're not alone in our depravity, and once on this path, sin itself becomes the lesser of two evils masked in a cloud of normalcy. This is how Duplicity has functioned since the beginning. The divide of power and social standing is overt in that Dominants influence the decisions made both publicly and privately while Submissives cater to the rules presented to them. It is the way of Duplicity to assign random designations at birth with no leeway in altering what has been given. Climate in the Up is far stricter than that of the Down; violating outlined personas for a Dominant or Submissive while in full view of others is punished by degree of infraction. In the Down, many tend to turn a blind eye to these sorts of offenses. To counteract the discovery of the deceit gene – a natural "negative" response to all stimuli – the LIEs program was founded. The program had been designed to introduce new subjects to the current environment and test for the deceit gene through immersion in Duplicity's standing society. Sexual impulses and encounters increase the chances of detecting the gene within these individuals. Participants are typically released from LIEs after a year; however, results have remained unsatisfactory and testing still continues. ... and you're here! Finally! Welcome to Duplicity. After choosing a door and stepping through to the other side, the first thing that greets you are the enthusiastic faces of people in medical scrubs and pristine lab coats. Their enthusiasm translates to eagerness as they strip you of your clothes to perform a thorough examination—you will be healed, bathed, and given a paper gown to wear until your items can be processed and delivered to your residence later in the evening. You are also given a device that accesses the network as well as the time and location of Orientation. If you enter Duplicity into the Up, congratulations! You're a Dominant, which means you are immediately picked up by a limo after processing and taken to your high-rise. Here, it is two Dominants per floor with separate apartments. If you enter Duplicity into the Down, congratulations! You're a Submissive, which means you are directed towards public transportation with the address of the motel you'll be living in. Here, it is two Submissives per room with a shared common space for all rooms. Enjoy your free time until Orientation! Participation is mandatory for all new and past arrivals. Skies are clear and the weather is warm. |
![]() After stepping through the door and participating in Orientation, LIERs are assembled together in the Up for a tour of Duplicity in its entirety. Seats are in pairs and randomly assigned to Dominants and Submissives alike. Traveling from Fiddler's Square, the train journeys through various parts of the Up, showcasing society and examples of lifestyle. Along the way, frequent stops are made; a variety of passengers can be seen exiting and entering the doors. A Dominant with a kneeling Submissive takes a seat near the front of the train at one stop. A small group of Submissives board and sit closer to the LIERs at another, all seemingly content in their roles. As the tour continues through the Up, the train passes close to the Market and White Wall Bridge and zips by North Park before heading into the Down and bypassing Red Wall Bridge and South Park. The train makes a "final" stop at Riddler's Square, where inhabitants of the Down are instructed to return to their temporary housing. Those who live in the Up are permitted to stay on the train and revisit the same locations while returning. |
![]() (cw: sensory deprivation, coercion, dub-con/non-con) One of the workshops at this month's Orientation pairs Dominants with Submissives for an exercise in blind chemistry. Literally — they'll all be blindfolded before meeting their partner and the blindfolds must stay on! They will be encouraged to explore with their other senses, such as touch and taste. Kissing is the bare minimum of what's expected, though no one will stop them should they want to take things further… Each pair will get around 10-15 minutes together (unless they really hit things off) before switching to a new partner. Some participants may also be tapped for a secondary exercise in which Submissives remain blindfolded, while Dominants are not. Dominants may do as they wish with them and may choose whether to keep their partner or swap blindfolded Subs back and forth with other Dominants. |
![]() (cw: aphrodisiacs, drugs, altered mental states, public nudity) With the arrival of good weather and sunny skies ahead in the forecast, LIEs has decided to sponsor a post-Orientation BBQ in North Park. Picnic blankets and picnic tables are set up for use around the park and there is a main food station handing out catered food, as well as a few small charcoal grills available for those who wish to grill themselves. Sausages, burgers, and kebabs (vegetarian options available) are either ready to go or laid out to be cooked, along with stuff to make sandwiches (did someone say PB&J?). All the usual sides and condiments are available as well. In addition to flavor, many of those condiments contribute a little something extra to one's meal. Does the jelly in that PB&J make you feel a little more jealous than usual? Does that mustard get you all hot and bothered? It just might. Perhaps most nefarious of all is that a few batches of the condiments have truth serum mixed in with them, making people open up about their true wants and desires. See someone you wouldn't mind kissing? Feel like baring it all? Maybe you should tell them — or simply go for it. Inhibitions are lowered and tongues loosened so stuff that hotdog down your throat and get ready for some fun. There are a few different games being played in the park that LIERs can join in on, such as three-legged and wheelbarrow races with Dominant and Submissive pairs, capture the flag, and something that resembles a raunchier version of Twister. If games aren't your thing there is also a hot yoga class that is taking place, open to anyone who wishes to join. Some people are fully nude as they pose and stretch while others wear workout gear that seem more scandalous than those who are naked. Of course aside from your traditional yoga poses the instructor encourages Dominants and Submissives to practice what are clearly Kama Sutra positions with one another. Hope you're flexible! |
![]() (cw: transformation, body modification, drugs) There's a lot of buzz surrounding a store from one of Duplicity's sister cities, Insincerity, setting up a temporary pop-up location in Fiddler's Square. The store in question is the Supermarket and they deal in temporary upgrades, enhancements, and all things extraordinary. You can sample what it's like to be super at the Supermarket! Staffed by enigmatic Insincerity natives, the mini market is open to Dominants and Submissives alike. In order to entice buyers to visit their home location, the wares on offer make up a limited selection of their full stock — a carefully curated selection of the Supermarket's best-selling products and seasonal specials. The staff won't elaborate too much, but there are rumors that something big is happening soon in Insincerity. This month they've come to you; next month you may be coming to them. Products fall into three broad categories: power-ups, transformation/body modification, and sexual enhancers. The most common form they come in is a colorful glowing syringe, but potions, pills, and topical creams are available on request. The menu is as follows: Something Super: Transform: Enhance: Effects can be mixed and matched with the application of multiple products — though the Supermarket employees caution that buyers do so at their own risk — and may last up to one full day. |
Please read carefully. On each Test Drive Meme, there will be a section noting character roles; these will vary each TDM. On an IC level, characters will still have gone through the doors but the assignments are OOCly randomized. When applying, there is a section of the application that denotes whether the character chooses "left" or "right." When participating on the TDM, there will be a third option. Players may link either a top level or a thread (five or more comments from their character) from the TDM and title the link as "Door Pass." This means that the player is choosing to take the designation that they were randomly assigned on the TDM, rather than taking the designation of a door. If the player decides to select a door rather than use the pass, then they are trying their luck; they may get the same designation they had on the TDM or the opposite. Once the application is submitted, players can't change their choice. To assign roles to characters for this TDM, use the following guide: If your character prefers jelly, they are a Dominant. If your character prefers peanut butter, they are a Submissive. To Note: Characters can only swap their designation for one of the following reasons: an event occurs that allows it or there are OOC reasons that make it a necessity. Any swap always requires mod approval and each character can only ever switch once. Characters that are being reapped will keep their previous designation but players can choose to use new TDMs with different designations for fun! Test Drive threads can be used as activity proofs for characters currently in-game. Please remember to mark any necessary content, and have fun!! |

The choice in cuisine? You can't possibly mean-
[ G'raha glances at his sandwich, and realizes that he should have been far more careful about eating any old thing offered. He'd been on the tour; he knows there are plenty of things of dubious nature, so why would a picnic be any different? In fact, if he spares a glance over yonder, at those people who have decided to simply forgo clothing...
Ah, perhaps he'll just. Look away from that. ]
no subject
[ He glances over to where G'raha is trying not to look, observing the people who've just decided that being naked is the only way to shoulder the heat. They're not entirely wrong he supposes. Though he manages to look a little bored as he glances back to G'raha. ]
I imagine we'll be just like them soon.
[ A pointed pause, his eyebrow lifted. ]
But I'm sure we could find some privacy before it's too late.
no subject
Privacy, yes, perhaps we should... find somewhere else.
[ G'raha does not think he'd be able to withstand the mortification that is to come after such a thing. He imagines it would wear off sooner or later, and finding himself in a state he unwillingly sank to... No, he's not fond of the idea at all. He's going to abandon this cursed sandwich, quickly getting to his feet.
Emet-Selch is expectedly unconcerned about it, which is no surprise at all. ]
no subject
Emet-Selch is mildly surprised that G'raha is so agreeable about this, but then perhaps he's not fully thinking of what Emet-Selch has in mind.
Oh yes he hates the Crystal Exarch, the former Exarch, whatever. But he is absolutely going to find pleasure in his body if he has to be subjected to both his company and the sight of his soul. ]
Come then. In a gesture of good faith, I offer you shelter to weather the heat away.
no subject
Although... the way he says that does make G'raha a slight bit suspicious. Then again, everything Emet-Selch says makes him feel that way, whether or not it is truly insincere.
Regardless, he will follow along, glancing about them in hopes that nobody notices anything off and gods is it getting warm, but he's not going to shed any clothes. No, he refuses. ]
no subject
His offering of "peace" is mostly sincere, even if it's perhaps not the best way to go about it. But there is that, at least.
He's suffering the heat as well, trying to pretend he's not as bothered as he actually is. Peeling clothing off is actually looking appealing. Peeling it off the miqo'te is looking even more so, and he hates that actually. ]
Luckily they provide us with many places to find a little bit of privacy.
[ He doesn't exactly want to invite G'raha Tia into his apartment first thing, so he settles for one of the little private tent areas because of course their hosts are prepared for the need of seclusion. And since Emet-Selch is a dominant, nobody questions his need for one with a submissive in tow either. Lovely. ]
Here now, this should be better.
[ But it won't be enough, and he knows this. ]
no subject
...he doesn't think he particularly wants to get used to it.
He ought to be more wary of Emet-Selch, and deep down, G'raha knows this. And he is, of course, but the way his clothing is beginning to feel too much seems to be a far more pressing matter. He comforts himself with the fact that they clearly dislike each other--which he does feel bad about, considering how his dear friend trusts Emet-Selch these days--but!
There is at least the relief of privacy, and he breathes out, though the air feels even more stifling in here. ]
Give me a moment. [ He dislikes the idea of coming undone in front of Emet-Selch... though he is not necessarily bad to look at. It's just. That personality. ]
no subject
That matter aside, when he finds out how their captors are able to manipulate even such strong beings as themselves, he will do all that he can to destroy them.
For now though he's looking at G'raha like he's a snack, settling himself down on one of the bed-like furnitures they've got in the place. He rests his chin upon a hand. ]
Of course.
[ Listen, G'raha's personality is no prize either if you ask Emet-Selch. Far too fixated on dying for his friends. Newsflash, no one ever recovers from that.
After a moment of watching G'raha Tia do his own thing, Emet sits back a bit now, loosening the buttons and collar of the shirt he's wearing. He clearly has no qualms in getting a little undressed. ]
no subject
He tells himself he is not taking his shirt off. But it is rather hot, and they are both suffering from it, and... well, it's not as though either of them have anything unusual under those layers. Probably. As far as G'raha knows, this Emet-Selch is in a standard body, and his own is several hundred years younger and less crystallized than it had been.
Ah, fine. He'll lose the shirt. G'raha tugs it over his head, though he does pointedly turn his face away from Emet-Selch. He would not want the other man to accuse him of looking. ]
no subject
Oh my. [ He can't help but comment as G'raha removes his own shirt. It's not that that he's surprised about. Rather it's truly the lack of blue crystal covering him. He might have noticed the difference in G'raha's face or arms of course, but now it's quite certain that none of that remains. ] You truly did leave that tower behind.
[ And in the hands of a bored, imprisoned Elidibus. Good. He hopes Elidibus burns it to the ground. ]
It must be nice.
[ His own body is indeed very normal looking. No tentacles or giant hands or clawed fingers today. Not even the remnants of a certain fatal axe wound. He'll save that for another time. ]
Won't you come closer?
no subject
He is never eating free food here again. ]
I hardly think it necessary to come closer.
[ G’raha does not comment on the lack of an axe wound, as he assumes that would be a (fairly) sore subject. He does take a small step forward, already quite aggravated. ]
You might have warned me that the food had been tampered with.
no subject
He raises a brow as G'raha verbally protests but physically complies, wondering if he should even bother to comment upon that. Perhaps getting the miqo'te completely riled up in defensiveness would not work to his benefit right now though. Imagine that. ]
Do you honestly think I'm responsible for this? That I have plotted this out, getting you all hot and bothered on a sandwich when you're the one who made one for me?
[ He sniffs ] After all this time, you think so little of me.
[ He waves a hand dismissively. ] I'm affected too, you know. That's why you should just come closer and we'll handle this, or we can just stare longingly at one another while carnal desires burn us from the inside out. That sounds like fun now doesn't it.
no subject
Fine. Perhaps there was nothing you could have done, considering I had already eaten the sandwich by the time you so politely decided to join me, but... but you might have told me before it got to this point.
[Quite truthfully, it's the panic that is making G'raha as defensive as he is. He may be technically over 300 years old, but he has hardly had his first kiss, let alone... this! Though when Emet-Selch comments that he is affected, too, G'raha pauses, eyeing the man in his own state of undress.]
There are plenty of other people I would rather stare longingly at, thank you. As I'm certain is also the case for you. How exactly do you propose to handle this?
[The idea of help is quickly becoming appealing, an odd feeling burying itself in the heat of G'raha's skin. It's hard to focus on much else, though he's doing his best, eyes darting to the entrance of the tent as though they will be discovered doing something untoward.]
no subject
[ He scoffs a little, throwing his hands up in a shrug. ]
It's not all food that has an effect. How was I to know?
[ True he could have been less vague about where he was taking G'raha and what they were going to do, but that still seems like a G'raha Tia problem and not an Emet-Selch one!
He scrunches his eyebrows together, mocking offense. ]
What? That's so cruel. Perhaps you prefer this. [ He snaps his fingers, taking on his actual form rather than the guise of Solus and his squishy little body. That does mean that the scar is visible now but G'raha is running out of options here, he can't be picky! ]
Did I not tell you I would assist you? Oh dear, what did you think I meant?
no subject
Ah, yes. G'raha remembers seeing that form briefly. It is... honestly a bit better than the other. Taller, though. And there's the scar, which does make him feel a pang of guilt that he's sure Emet-Selch would not appreciate, so he keeps that to himself.
An exasperated huff of air, and G'raha relents. It is simply too much, and he knows it will only get worse. Or at least, he assumes so. ]
Very well. You did say you would assist me. [ This he says with a bit of hesitation.
There is no way G'raha is going to admit he has never done anything like this before. Certainly not to a man with a tongue far too sharp for his liking. ]
no subject
The former Crystal Exarch may not be used to the form that stands before him now, but Emet-Selch figures that's why it will put him a little more at ease. Fun as it would be to wreck him in Solus' body and all. ]
Yes, and I am a man of my word if nothing else.
[ He offers his hand out to G'raha and should the miqo'te take it, he will instantly pull him in close. Even if he does not allow Emet-Selch to do this, he will close the distance himself, crushing his lips against G'raha's.
Oh if only he knew how inexperienced G'raha was! He would absolutely revel in it. ]
no subject
And it's getting hard to think about anything but the heat under his skin.]
A man of your word... I'm not entirely certain I believe that.
[He hesitates, looking dubiously at the hand offered him, but eventually reaches out. There's hardly any time to think about the sudden closeness before there are lips on his and ah, there's that panic again! Though it is just as soon pushed down by how utterly nice it feels to kiss.
He's not going to think of his inexperience. How hard can it be, after all?]
no subject
Despite the way need crawls under his skin and urges him to hurry this along, he has to stop and raise a brow at G'raha. ]
Oh, I am many things, but I have not lied to you and yours.
[ Unreliable? Vague? Coniving? Yes. But straight up lying, straight up saying he wouldn't do something and then doing it anyway? He pleads not guilty.
For now he will forgive this slight against him, chalking it up to the drugged food they both consumed. If he can tell at all that G'raha is inexperienced yet, he doesn't make a sign of it. Right now he's simply taking what he wants, now that he's defended his good name.
His fingers tilt G'raha's chin up slightly to better suit his own posture as he ventures to deepen the kiss he's imposed upon the man. He doesn't see much reason to be gentle or polite about things, but at the very least he's not violent. Just insistent mostly, as teeth capture G'raha's lower lip briefly and his tongue seeks entrance, far from satisfied. ]
no subject
A huff; it's true that he has not known Emet-Selch to be a liar. Quite honestly, he is more of a liar--at least, his past self--and he knows it. Not that he will bring up past transgressions, or that he even has a mind to do so right now when he's feeling increasingly bothered.
The fingers on his chin don't feel as unpleasant as G'raha might have thought. Maybe it's just his own sensitivity, but the touch feels nice, and the kiss even nicer. A shudder moves through him without warning, entire body rigid, and at the feeling of teeth and the warm, foreign sensation of a tongue, G'raha makes a noise.
That's... not bad. It really isn't. He's parting his lips without thinking, feeling oddly weak at the knees, heart in his throat.]
no subject
If the miqo'te is feeling weak in the knees that's fine. Emet-Selch will catch him. All the better if more of their bodies are touching one another. Sure they aren't the happiest of partners here, but it's doing the trick for what the drugged food has done to them.
He can't wait until his desires are more his own, and he can bully the Crystal Exarch to the full extent of his abilities. That thought to look forward to, his fingers eventually wander from G'raha's chin up into his hair and behind an ear. His other hand helps itself to G'raha's backside, drawing him in closer. No need to pretend that this isn't going to escalate. ]
no subject
It feels good. All of it, but especially the hand on his face, behind his ear. Said ear twitches, pleased--they have always been too honest for their own good--and then perks with the feeling of the hand on his rear.
Ah. That's where this is going.
Of course it is. G'raha is inexperienced, but he is not stupid. He knows what desire feels like, and that's what this is, neediness, even though he is quite frustrated about the fact. It's not his fault, he reminds himself. ]
no subject
Even the hand at G'raha's rear is a bit more polite than Emet-Selch is feeling. But it's nice, and the reaction he gets is also very nice, giving him a dull, needy ache in the pit of his stomach. He's not sure how much longer he can actually be polite, though.
Even as they kiss, that hand that was toying with G'raha's ear (fun as that was) trails back down again, fingers splayed against bare chest as he feels out the muscle there — not that it's a whole lot or anything, but he is very invested in G'raha's skin at the moment. The pads of his index finger rubs over a nipple as he gives a pleased hum.
That is indeed where this is going. Though he won't go the full nine yards if it's too much for G'raha today. Probably. ]
no subject
But he can't bother thinking about that now, not when Emet-Selch is touching places that really are not used to being touched. His hands are large--or perhaps G'raha is just... small, but either way, the feeling of a finger against his nipple is something that draws a noise from G'raha's throat, one he can't take back even if he'd wanted to.
Yes, he is enjoying this. He shouldn't be, doesn't want to be, but he is. His teeth catch Emet-Selch's lip and would he be blamed terribly for pushing towards the hand that touches him? ]
no subject
He's used to smaller partners at least, seemingly having no trouble at all finding just the right places to touch. Smirking at the noise he gets out of the miqo'te, he repeats the same attention to his other nipple. It's a little conflicting for him too, the excitement he feels when G'raha bites down on his lip, but conflict or no! He's intent on getting all the enjoyment he can out of this.
It's probably a good thing that his mouth is occupied though, because he definitely wants to comment on how G'raha pushes toward him. How adorably and perfectly eager, he thinks, as his hand travels south. He doesn't ask permission as he starts to peel down the waist of the man's pants, helping himself to the bare flesh beneath. ]
