[ this has been in the top five of most overwhelming days nazuna nito has ever experienced. he's not the only one feeling sort of stifled, here--though for an easily flustered (when it comes to...literally anything related to the up or down, anyway) young man, perhaps "mortified" or "freaked out" might fit the bill.
nazuna finds himself in the down for much of the same reason: there's nothing that gets his mind off of whatever that orientation was than helping out someone else. it's a thousand times easier to ask around and try to get a lay of the land and the people in it, to go hunting for supplies for a nice woman he talked to as soon as he left. she'd asked him to pick up groceries, and so he's holding a shopping bag or three of his own in his arms, juggling milk, bread, and as many other essentials as he can fit in his tiny arms. it's left him with three big boxes and a few bags poking out of the top, enough that nazuna can't really see where he's going, but he's too stubborn to stop.
he's barely paying attention to anything but the groceries, the list the woman gave him repeating in his head over and over, trying not to drop anything--it means hearing a familiar voice startles him so much he almost drops everything he's holding. ]

hopefully kaoru recognizes his voice, because he is definitely not going to be able to see nazuna under the pile of groceries in his arms. ]
