It's a lot to deal with in your first couple of days, [ he agrees gently, tipping his temple against the couch cushion. ] And you should definitely take a little time to think about it, but there's people here that really, really need a contract and just haven't met anyone willing to offer, so I think you'll be fine.

[ the question earns a small shake of his head, though. ] Nah, I wasn't really planning to be choosy from the start. I just wanted to get it over with, y'know? So I put it out on the network and got a lot of offers from folks that wanted the same thing, just to get it outta' the way. I met a couple of 'em and talked, and I still keep in contact with one or two of them. [ he seems to soften, looking helplessly fond for a moment before he gets a hold of himself again. ] Anyway, I ended up contracting with a guy I wasn't really expecting. He's a sweetheart, though, just a little rough 'round the edges.
