The anti-hero part, slightly less so, as Geralt’s assessment of Julian is simply that he’s a well-meaning man put into a difficult situation that he dealt with to the best of his ability. He’s capable of reading between the lines, recognising there are struggles, pain, and fear he isn’t mentioning, but that’s what swapping tales is about: indulging in the best representation of yourself.
